Heirloom — “your life story, one question at a time” — is built on one idea: the best stories disappear if no one asks for them. Each week a storyteller gets a gentle prompt about childhood, work, love, the ordinary days, and answers in their own words, photos, or voice. Audio is transcribed automatically, so nothing is lost.
It meets older relatives where they are: they can answer inside the app, by replying to an email, or by picking up an actual phone call that reads the prompt aloud and records their reply. Invited family read every story, leave comments, and suggest follow-up questions — with per-story privacy that stays private, family-only, or public, exactly as the teller chooses.
Over a year the answers compile into a themed, print-ready keepsake: a typeset hardcover with a table of contents, a cover, and QR codes that play back the original audio, ordered through print-on-demand. Favourite stories can even become memorabilia like shirts and posters — the family's words, made into something you can hold.
