Alpha-gal

Your alpha-gal field guide — scan a label and see the risk, without the guesswork.

Your alpha-gal field guide.

Alpha-gal is a calm, practical field guide for living with alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) — the tick-borne allergy that turns mammal-derived ingredients into a daily hazard, hidden in food, medications, and everyday products. It's built for the real shape of the problem: not one big decision, but hundreds of small “can I have this?” checks a week. Point it at a product and it does the checking for you.

Scan a barcode, snap a photo of an ingredient label, or look up a medication, and Alpha-gal flags mammalian ingredients and their hidden derivatives — then returns a clear verdict tuned to the person you're checking for: AVOID, CAUTION, or LIKELY-OK. By design it never says a flat “safe,” and never uses green to signal go — because with AGS, certainty is rare and stakes are high. Keep separate profiles for yourself and dependents, each with their own sensitivity level.

Beyond the scanner it's a whole toolkit: log meals and reactions into a timeline you can export as a doctor-ready report, keep an offline emergency card for a reaction, record tick bites against a presence map, and lean on a community-sourced guide to AGS-friendly recipes, restaurants, vendors, and AGS-aware doctors. An in-app assistant answers ingredient questions and a learn library explains the science — and every feature stays free, supported by an optional one-time gift rather than a paywall.

  • Per-person profiles for you and dependents, each with its own sensitivity level
  • Scan history, so you can re-check products you've looked up before
  • Track meals and reactions on a timeline, and export a doctor-shareable report
  • Offline emergency card — your allergy, reactions, and what to do, with no signal needed
  • Tick-bite log with a presence map to track exposure over time
  • Explore directories — AGS-friendly recipes, restaurants, a marketplace of safe products, and AGS-aware doctors
  • Save and manage your own AGS-safe recipes
  • “Ask” — an in-app assistant for questions like “is this ingredient mammal-derived?”
  • A learn library on AGS, cross-reactivity, and reading labels — and every feature free, backed by an optional one-time gift
